What is a recurrent miscarriage?

If you have unfortunately experienced one or more miscarriages or pregnancy losses in the past, there can be a lot of unanswered questions, confusion and concern about your future fertility. We provide a safe and reassuring environment to explore the causes of miscarriages and help to determine what investigations would be appropriate for you.

A thorough history is required and in some cases further blood tests or an ultrasound scan may be recommended.

What to expect from your appointment:

• Consultation with one of our female consultant gynaecologists

• Thorough history

• Transvaginal ultrasound scan if appropriate

• Management advice e.g. referral to fertility services

• Prescription arrangement

• Written medical report which can be posted or emailed to yourself and health professional(s) of your choice

• Notification of results of any test
