Miss Rebecca Gibbs

MBBS MRCOG

At the practice

Miss Gibbs is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, specialising in HRT and the menopause - she is on the British Menopause Society specialist register. She is also an accredited colposcopist and has a specialist interest in the management of vulval disease.

As conditions affecting the vulva can be associated with dermatological problems elsewhere, Miss Gibbs often works alongside a dermatologist to ensure holistic management. Miss Gibbs also performs minor surgical procedures at The Portland Hospital.

Background

Miss Gibbs graduated from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine (University of London) in 2006 and qualified as a Member of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2011.

She is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Free Hospital, London. In 2016 she became a Colposcopist, accredited by the British Society for Colposcopists and Cervical Pathology. Miss Gibbs chiefly cares for women with abnormal smear test results, but also manages cervical polyps, bleeding after sex and cervical ectropions.

Miss Gibbs has recently completed the advanced training skills module in Management of the Menopause at the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She contributes an up-to-date knowledge on the safe prescription of HRT to the team, including the use of testosterone therapy for reduced libido.

Miss Gibbs is a volunteer for the Daisy Network, the UK’s premature ovarian insufficiency charity, and works with the London Havens to provide care for victims of sexual assault.
